Job Description
We are now inviting expression of interests from applicants who are seeking an opportunity to be part of our Data Network and Services team within the Network Operations Department. The Graduate Engineer – Data Network & Services will provide support and expertise to effectively carry out the functions of the department with the aim of achieving KPI’s for the entire Network Operations Department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the Packet Core, Backbone IP Infrastructure and ISP Network
• Provide technical assistance on projects and initiatives undertaken by the department
• Provide 2nd and 3rd Level Support on issues.
• Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
• Attend call-outs after office hours and in fault situations
• Researching and analyzing existing and new system requirements and procedures for Data Services
• Facilitate department testing and documenting requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements
• Degree in Computing Science or Engineering, with knowledge of Networking and Telecommunications Infrastructure
• Knowledge of networking operating systems including Cisco IOS and Linux.
• Familiarity with Routing & Switching protocols
• CCNA qualification would be advantageous
• Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative, innovative, be “on the go” and possess organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding
• Ability to demonstrate accountability for processes and targets
• Strong interpersonal skill and ability to deal appropriately with stakeholders
