Team Leader Agro-photovoltaic / Renewable Energy Project

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for reviewing, validating and providing relevant advice to Manager Climate & Eco Finance on technical matters to ensure FDB’s interest is safeguarded at all times.
• Responsible for coordinating the implementation of the AgroPV project in a timely manner and in line with all relevant requirements as included in:
o the Agro PV Funded Activity Agreement (FAA) signed by the FDB and the GCF.
o the Accreditation Master Agreement (AMA) signed by the FDB and the GCF.
o applicable FDB policies and procedures.
o Subcontracts with project executing entities.
• Responsible to supervise the project related work of subcontracted executing entities.
• Assisted by the Project Assistant and a MRV and ESS/gender Specialist, responsible to coordinate and ensure all project administration, financial management, procurement, ESS/gender management and reporting to the GCF and other relevant parties.
• Responsible to organize and facilitate Project Steering Committee meetings.
• Under the guidance of the Climate and Eco-Finance Manager, contribute to project specific liaison with the NDA and the GCF Secretariat.
• Provide technical input into the development of future Renewable Energy; Decarbonising Fiji’s Transport Sector and Adaptation.

• Provide technical advice and information to support Bank’s presentations at national and regional Renewable Energy, Sustainable Transport and Adaptation forums and working groups.
• Support internal capacity building and contribute to strategic planning for climate finance.
• Other project management related tasks as agreed with the Climate and Eco-Finance Manager.
• Provide input to the work of the FDB’s Climate & Eco Finance Strategy & Pipeline Development and future project designs.

Qualification
Master’s degree in engineering, economics, business administration, development economics/studies, environmental science, climate change, and/or renewable energy. Preference is for those in the Engineering field particularly in renewable energy infrastructure.

Experience

Extensive experience in project management/coordination roles in Fiji/Pacific region.
• Min 8 years’ direct experience in managing projects financed or co-financed by international partners, including coordination with national government representatives and executing entities
• Experience in renewable energy projects or other climate change mitigation projects is considered an advantage
• Experience in renewable energy, climate mitigation, or EV infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, outstanding communication (written and verbal), proven inter-personal and leadership skills, proactive problem solver, excellent command of English.
