Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) – Fiji Link

The Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) – Fiji Link is responsible for conducting approved simulator training, both full flight and fixed base, in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

This role will report to Manager Training – Flight Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct simulator training sessions for flight crew.
  • Conduct instructor training programs as required.
  • Conduct training sessions using the Integrated Procedures Trainer (IPT) or Multi-Functional Training Device (MFTD).
  • Conduct progress reviews in the simulator or IPT when approved.
  • Assess the need for additional remedial training for any pilot and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance training efficiency, safety, and overall quality.
  • Recommend standardized procedures and instructional techniques for all Training Captains and Flight Crew Technical Ground Instructors to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct Line Operations Safety Audits (LOSA) across the Fiji Link network, with specific focus on DHC6-400 and ATR operations.
    Conduct ground school lectures as required.
  • Undertake administrative duties, projects, course development, and other assigned tasks as delegated by the Manager Training – Flight Operations.
  • Support Fleet Captains in maintaining aircraft technical standards and ensuring compliance with aircraft operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Recommend training requirements to the Manager Training – Flight Operations as necessary.
  • Assist the Manager Training and Fleet Captains in identifying process improvements to increase productivity and training effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified Synthetic Flight Instructor or previous Check & Training Captain or Training Captain.
  • At least five (5) years as Instructor Pilot.
