Inventory Officer

We therefore invite internal applications for the position of Inventory Officer based at the Digicel Khalsa office, reporting to the Head of RAN & Transport.

The Inventory Officer is responsible for overseeing and maintaining inventory levels across all warehouse facilities, including main, bonded, and leased sites. The role ensures effective management of stock movements, customs clearance, and logistics coordination for all imported and exported Digicel Pacific materials. This position requires strong analytical, organizational, and technical knowledge – particularly in the telecommunications sector involving wireless, transmission, ICT, fiber, CCTV, and power systems to support project deployments and ensure operational efficiency.

Core responsibilities:

Inventory Management & Control

Maintain accurate inventory records using Warehouse Management System (WMS) /Maplewave MSPOS.
Conduct monthly stock counts, reconciliations, and cycle audits to ensure system accuracy.
Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment or purchase requests based on project or operational requirements.
Manage inbound and outbound stock transactions, ensuring proper documentation and traceability.
Develop and maintain SKU master lists and ensure item codes align with project and operational categories.
Implement FIFO/FEFO methods and oversee the safe handling, storage, and labelling of goods.

Customs, Import & Export Coordination

Prepare and verify import/export documentation for all telecom materials and project equipment.
Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners for clearance and delivery.
Ensure compliance with Fiji Revenue & Customs Service (FRCS) regulations on duty, VAT, and tariff classification.
Review supplier invoices, packing lists, and Bill of Lading to ensure CIF/Ex-Works terms are properly managed.
Track shipments and provide status updates to management and technical teams.

Telecom & Technical Inventory Support

Manage and track telecom hardware such as antennas, RRUs, MW links, routers, switches, and fiber accessories if decommissioned.
Maintain technical records for ICT, CCTV, and wireless network components.
Assist engineers with pre-deployment staging and return management of defective or obsolete equipment (RMA process).
Maintain adequate spares for power equipment such as generators, batteries (dry cell/Liion), and rectifiers with department assistance.
Support rollout and upgrade projects for LTE, GPON, and 5G networks with accurate material provisioning.

Warehouse & Logistics Operations

Supervise loading/unloading operations ensuring safe material handling and compliance      with OHS standards.
Coordinate inter-warehouse transfers, project dispatches, and site material returns.
Oversee proper bin allocation, shelving, and warehouse layout optimization for improved workflow.
Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure timely delivery and minimal stock discrepancies.
Implement continuous improvement measures for process efficiency and cost reduction.

Reporting & Compliance

Maintain compliance with company asset management policies and safety standards.
Support end-of-life (EOL) audits, write-offs, and asset disposal procedures in coordination with Finance and Compliance teams.

Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:

  • Qualification in Supply Chain / Administration
  • 2 -3 years of relevant experience in Inventory Management
  • Sound communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams
  • Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS) and warehouse compliance procedures
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and reporting
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project timelines
