Antimicrobial (AMR) Research Officer – Fiji

📍 Suva, Fiji | 💼 2-year contract |

Are you passionate about improving health outcomes and tackling antimicrobial resistance (AMR)?

Join the Doherty Institute and Fiji Ministry of Health in delivering the COMBAT-AMR Phase II project.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a vital international health partnership, build research skills, and make a real impact on AMR response in Fiji.

The Role

As the AMR Research Officer, you’ll work with hospitals, laboratories, and communities to:

  • Support and conduct hospital and community-based research.
  • Collect and manage data using REDCap and other tools.
  • Engage with study participants and stakeholders across Fiji.
  • Contribute to training, reporting, and strengthening local research capacity.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A degree in Nursing or Public Health (3–5 years’ experience).
  • Proven research experience (data collection/entry, hospital & community studies).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in diverse teams.

Desirable: postgraduate training in public health/epidemiology, project management experience, and familiarity with Fiji’s health systems.
