PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for undertaking performance evaluation and analysis of the financial statements to support Management information and decision making. This includes variance analysis and preparation of reports to analyse financial and treasury data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
  2. Provide support in areas of liquidity and cash flow forecasting, capital adequacy analysis, and asset-liability management.
  3. Participate in strategic planning initiatives, including stress testing and scenario modelling.
  4. Assist Finance Department is managing all bank account and visa card operations with commercial banks. This includes documentation on opening/closing accounts, assigning operating authority, adding/removing signatories etc.
  5. Ensuring timely submission of variance reports for centre operating results by all departments Finance & Treasury Division for CFOs reference.
  6. Attend to the Senior Management’s request for the Bank’s financial performance evaluation and analysis to support in decision making. This may include undertaking adhoc project analysis, comparing options available for the Bank in terms of cost and benefits, developing forecasts and compiling report for Management decision.
  7. Prepares Board and EXCO papers for information and decision. This also includes monthly preparation of the report to the Board on the KRA and KPI’s for the Bank.
  8. Collaborate with Treasury, Finance and coordinate with ICT and Risk teams to gather business requirements for system enhancements and process improvements.
  9. Contribute to the preparation and review of Bank’s policies and procedures which includes the Accounting Instructions, Treasury Manual. The position also assists in maintaining policies and procedures of the Bank’s accounting systems.
  10. Attend and assist the Internal and External Auditors to ensure that the audit is completed in a timely manner by providing the information/data/documents requested.
  11. Liaise with RBF, Ministry of Finance, Commercial Banks, FRCS and other regulatory bodies as and when required. Assist in regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with internal and external financial standards.
  12. Communicate with various departments of the Bank to gather and collate financial data. This includes designing and implementation of reporting tools and dashboards for real-time financial insights and submitting a summary report for the month to Media/Communications team for communication to key stakeholders.
  13. Preparation of Budget for the Office of CFO and closely monitor the office expenses to ensure budget limits are maintained. Maintain proper correspondence and staff circular files for all issues reported to Office of CFO.
  14. Conduct gap analysis and recommend solutions to improve operational efficiency and financial controls. This includes contributing to maintaining the internal control procedures and systems to ensure that there are no loopholes.
  15. The Officer should further, be able to provide feedback on queries raised by the CFO or the Senior Management in a diligent and timely manner.

Qualification  

Degree in Accounting & Financial Management. A member of the Fiji Institute of Accountants or equivalent

Experience

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Demonstrates an analytical mindset with attention to detail, problem-solving abilities.  Must be proficient in data analysis tools (Excel) and financial/treasury systems used in the Bank. Possess strong oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
