We’re seeking expressions of interest from senior analytics professionals to help reshape data and automation capabilities for a forward-thinking financial institution in Papua New Guinea.
This is a unique opportunity to build an internal analytics and automation function from the ground up — shifting from manual processes to automated, insight-led solutions that drive smarter decision-making and reduce operational risk.
About the Role
As a senior leader in the data function, you’ll play a key role in building the capability, structure, and strategy for enterprise-wide data analytics and automation. You’ll work across all business units – from finance to retail – driving strategic outcomes through data-led insights and streamlined reporting.
This is a leadership role with the scope to shape strategy, develop high-performing teams, and influence the future of banking operations in PNG.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the data analytics and automation strategy across all business units
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of analysts and automation specialists
- Develop dashboards and self-service BI tools to support smarter business decisions
- Drive automation of repetitive manual processes to increase operational efficiency
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external teams (including regional IT teams)
- Support executive and board-level reporting with data-backed insights
- Implement governance, data quality, and real-time performance monitoring frameworks
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, and/or automation
- Proven leadership in building and developing high-performing analytics teams
- Strong technical skills: SQL, Python/R, Power BI/Tableau, Excel/VBA
- Exposure to financial services, regulatory reporting, and risk frameworks
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
- Ability to translate business strategy into actionable data roadmaps
