This role reports to Technical Materials Coordinator and the purpose of the Materials Storeman role is responsible for the management and control of Technical Materials Warehouse in their respective shifts. The position holder is directly accountable for the safety and security of the warehouse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Receives and reviews daily electronic and/or manual requisitions for spare parts from Maintenance and Aircraft Workshops.
  • Ensures correct spares in accurate quantities are issued and promptly updates the Engineering Maintenance System (AMOS).
  • Receives and inspects returned materials for serviceability; bins serviceable items appropriately and places unserviceable items on designated racks.
  • Prepares export documentation for materials sent for repair, return to MROs, or contracted inventory providers, including Dangerous Goods handling, certification, and packaging.
  • Transfers outgoing shipments from the Technical Materials Warehouse to the Freight Terminal before flight cut-off times, ensuring compliance with ATA 300 packaging standards.
  • Collects released shipments from Fiji Customs and delivers to Materials Receipts for inspection and release, verifying correctness and quantity.
  • Inspects and receives all incoming shipments in AMOS for Quality Assurance Materials Inspector’s service release.
  • Handles all parts and materials with care to avoid damage, ensuring special-handling items are stored per component specifications and maintenance manuals.
  • Carries out binning and storage of all aircraft parts, tools, GSE spares, and materials according to maintenance manuals and QAMI guidelines.
  • Conducts regular stock checks and reports discrepancies to Materials Planning Officers and Technical Materials Coordinator for corrective action.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the Technical Materials Warehouse, implementing 6S principles at all times.
  • Provides afterhours, weekend, and absence coverage for the Tool Crib Attendant, ensuring tools are accurately issued, recorded, returned, and discrepancies reported.
  • Provides relief for the Quality Assurance Materials Inspector and Materials Planning Officer as directed by the Technical Materials Coordinator – Warehouse.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Technical Materials Coordinator – Warehouse.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Certificate in Engineering Discipline / Supply Chain Management.
  • Successful completion of Fiji Seventh Form Examination.
  • Dangerous Goods Certification Approval will be an advantage.
  • Valid Group 2 Driving License.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Logistics and Warehouse Management.
  • Previous experience in a procurement & supply chain role is required.
  • Basic Understanding of 6S (6 Sigma) Philosophy would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications and previous experience in using inventory management systems would be an advantage.
