Full-Time Tool Crib Attendant

Job Description

 

 

The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing and controlling the Tool Stores during their shift. Key duties include ensuring the safety and security of tools and equipment, controlling access to the stores, issuing and receiving tools in serviceable condition, updating the system (AMOS), managing tool calibration, handling and packaging tools (including Dangerous Goods certification), and coordinating transfers to and from the Freight Terminal.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives and reviews daily tooling requisitions from Maintenance and Aircraft Support Workshops for aircraft, ground support equipment, and component maintenance.
  • Issues correct and serviceable tools to requestors and promptly updates the Engineering Maintenance System (AMOS).
  • Inspects returned tools for condition and serviceability; bins serviceable tools appropriately and reports unserviceable items to the Duty Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator.
  • Prepares export documentation for tools sent for repair, calibration, MRO return, or loan, including dangerous goods certification and packaging.
  • Transfers outgoing shipments to the Freight Terminal before flight cut-off times, ensuring compliance with ATA 300 specifications.
  • Collects tools released from Fiji Customs and delivers them to Materials Receipts for inspection and service release.
  • Verifies correctness and quantity of collected shipments against documentation.
  • Receives and inspects all incoming tool shipments in AMOS for Quality Assurance Materials Inspector’s review.
  • Handles all tools to prevent accidental damage, following component specifications and maintenance manuals for special-handling items.
  • Bins and stores all tools, GSE, spares, and materials per component maintenance manuals and Quality Assurance guidelines.
  • Conducts regular stock checks and reports discrepancies to Materials Planning Officers and Technical Materials Coordinator – Warehouse.
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the Tool Stores in line with 6 Sigma housekeeping principles.
  • Provides weekend and afterhours coverage for Materials Storeman, ensuring accurate material issuance and return.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Technical Materials Coordinator – Warehouse.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Certificate in Engineering Discipline / Supply Chain Management
  • Successful completion of Fiji Seventh Form Examination
  • Dangerous Goods Certification Approval will be an advantage
  • Valid Group 2 Driving License
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Logistics and Warehouse Management
  • Previous experience in a procurement & supply chain role is required.
  • Basic Understanding of 6 Sigma (6S) Philosophy would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications and previous experience in using inventory management systems would be an advantage.
